- Students can easily access educational resources, regardless of (不論) their family‘s economic background.

2. Real-Time Communication (即時溝通)

- Governments can harness (利用) the Internet to keep citizens informed with real-time updates.

- Unlike the days when newspaper purchases meant waiting until the next day for news, we now receive instant notifications (即時通知) about critical events (重大事情).

3. Global Communication (促進全球交流)

- People are increasingly using common symbols and abbreviations (縮寫) in communication.

- Young people benefit from the ability to connect with peers worldwide, enhancing their language skills and critical thinking (批判性思維).

1. Impact on Traditional Values (對傳統價值觀造成衝擊)

- The Internet can challenge traditional beliefs and values, especially for young people who are trying to form their identities during their formative years.

- In Hong Kong, where respecting elders is a norm, exposure to Western ideals of egalitarianism (平等主義) can create confusion and conflict.

2. Internet Addiction (網絡沉迷)

- With the allure (吸引力) of the online world, many students may find themselves drawn into excessive Internet use.

- Unfortunately, this addiction can detrimentally affect their academic performance (成績) and weaken their relationships with family and friends, as they may prioritize their online interactions over real-life connections.

3. Exposure to Harmful Content (易接觸不良資訊)

- The vastness (無邊無際) of the Internet also means that children and adolescents can inadvertently (無意地) encounter inappropriate content, such as pornography or violent material.
